AbbeyCare is the trading name of the Weston-super-Mare Free Church Housing Association Ltd, which is non profit making organisation with charitable status, providing excellent care facilities in a first class environment for older people of 65 years plus.

The first committee meeting to discuss providing homes for the elderly in the local community, was held in 1959 and representatives from Baptist, Methodist, Quaker and United Reformed Churches were in attendance.

This meeting led to the first home being opened in 1961, later followed by two others which are still today run by a Management Committee all of whom are volunteers from the Free Churches.
